— Harold L. Delong

Harold L. Delong, 86, of Bella Vista, died Friday, July 3, 2009, at Circle of Life Hospice House in Springdale.

Graveside services were July 24 at the National Cemetery in Fayetteville.

Arrangements were by Rollins Funeral Home of Rogers, Ark.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Circle of Life Hospice, 901 Jones Road, Springdale AR 72762; or to the Bella Vista Animal Shelter, 32 Bella Vista Way, Bella Vista, AR 72714.

Cathy Marie Harman

Cathy Marie Harman, 59, of Bentonville, died Monday, July 20, 2009, in Benton County. She was born Jan. 3, 1950, to Billy D. Stanbery and Winifred Pauline Billbe Stanbery.

She was a teacher for the Bentonville Schools for 30 years, most recently teaching at Apple Glen Elementary School in Bentonville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kerry Lee Harman; and a son, Kevin Lee Harman.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl Marie Harman Cox and Gregory Blane Cox of Bella Vista, and Tracy Lynn Woodall and Michael Todd Woodall of Gentry; her parents, Billy Dean and Winifred Stanbery of Tulsa, Okla.; a brother, Larry Dan Stanbery of Grapevine, Texas; a sister and brotherin-law, Paula Dean and Dennis Michael Webb of New Bern, N.C.; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were July 23 at the First Baptist Church in Bentonville, with Brother Phillip Smith officiating.

James A. Hatlestad

James "Jim" A. Hatlestad, 86, of Bella Vista, died Sunday, July 19, 2009, at Northwest Medical Center of Benton County in Bentonville. He was born on April 20, 1923, in Marshall, Minn., to Andrew Hatlestad and Olga Forsberg Hatlestad.

He was educated in St. Croix Falls, Wis. He joined the U.S. Army Air Force and was a navigator during World War II. He retired as a major in 1966.

He married Shirley Ohnstien on Nov. 22, 1946. He was a cab drive in St. Paul, Minn., and then became an insurance adjuster for Wausau Insurance. He was a flight service specialist for the FAA in Rochester, Minn. He moved to Bella Vista in 1987.

He married Lorraine Janzen in 1991 in Roseville, Minn..

He loved to play golf, read and anything electronic.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife; six brothers; three sisters; and one son, Robert Allen Hatlestad.

He is survived by his wife, Lorraine; son, James Scott Hatlestad and wife, Diane of East Moline, Ill.; daughter, Kay Marie Hatlestad of South St. Paul, Minn.; grandson, Todd Hatlestad and wife, Lora; granddaughter, Tara Bryson and husband, Jack; three great grandsons, Chase, Devon, Alec Hatlestad; a brother, Ralph and wife, Dee of Ephrata, Wash.; sister Corrine Duncan of Amery, Wis.; five step children and spouses; 11 step grandchildren and six step great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held July 28 at the United Lutheran Church, with Pastor Fred Nelson and Fred Schaap officiating.

Arrangements were by the Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory.

McClellan Haynes

William "Bill" McClellan Haynes, 82, of Bella Vista, died Wednesday, July 22, 2009, at Concordia Care Center in Bella Vista. He was born on May 19, 1927 in Cedar Falls, Iowa, to Kenneth R. Haynes and Effie May Hackett Haynes.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He received his BA degree from University of Northern Iowa class of 1949. He moved to Bella Vista in 1994 from California.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He was a Mason; a member of the University of Northern Iowa Alumni Association and loved to bowl.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mary Jane Haynes of Bella Vista; daughter, Vickie Hegg of Carmichael, Calif.; step-son, Raymond Richard and wife, Jeane of Woodland, Wash.; step-daughter, Dana Vanlue of Bella Vista; one grandchild, Crystal Heeg of Las Vegas, Nev.

A service was held July 27 at the Bella Vista Cemetery, Bella Vista.

Anthony "Tony"

Stanley Kaminski

Anthony "Tony" Stanley Kaminski, 76, of Bella Vista, died Tuesday, July 21, 2009, at his home. He was born on Sept. 22, 1932, in Perth Amboy, N.J., to Stanley Kaminski and Helen Gadek Kaminski.

He was raised and educated in Perth Amboy. He attended Rutgers University, and served in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. After his discharge he attended the University of Notre Dame

and graduated from Dana College in Blair, Neb.

Tony married Joyce Johnston on June 17, 1961, at the Annunciation Church in Coon Rapids, Iowa.

He received his Masters Degree from St. Mary's College in Winona, Minn. He taught in Omaha, Neb; Fort Dodge, Iowa; Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and St. Paul, Minn.

They moved to Bella Vista in 2001. Tony was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church and a member of the 3rd & 4th Degree Knights of Columbus; St. Bernard's Men's Club; and Parish Council.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Kaminski of Bella Vista; sons, Stephen Kaminski and wife, Mary Ann of South Lake, Texas, Michael Kaminski and wife, Anneke of Cincinnati, Ohio, Kevin Kaminski and wife, Julie of Omaha; daughter, Kitty Keys and husband, Mike of Minneapolis, Minn.; brother, Stanley Kaminski and wife, Eleanor of Redondo Beach, Calif.; and grandchildren, Patrick Keys, Colleen Keys, Christopher Keys, Stephanie Kaminski, Molly Kaminski, Kelly Kaminski, Kyle Kaminski, Abby Kaminski, Spencer Kaminski, Spencer Kaminski, Maddy Kaminski, Michael Kaminski, Meredith Kaminski, Charlotte Kaminski, Olivia Kaminski, Shelby Kaminski, Maximilian Kaminski, Alexander Kaminski, Anna Kaminski, Liam Kaminski, and Seth Kaminski.

A Mass of the Resurrection was held July 25 at St. Bernard Catholic Church, with Father Thomas Arackal officiating.

James "Jim" Wallace Loan

James "Jim" Wallace Loan, 70, of Sunland, Calif., died Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at St. Vincent Hospital in Los Angeles. He was born on Aug. 18, 1938 in Covington, Virginia to Wallace W. Loan and Esta Martin Loan.

He served in the U.S. Air Force. Jim was a district regional manager for The Tool and Dye Industries for over 40 years and recently worked for Anchor Danly.

He loved fast cars and Corvettes; was an avid golfer; loved sports; fishing; and boating.

He is survived by son, William Loan, of Bella Vista; daughter, Susan K. Trowbridge and husband, Mark of Bentonville; sister, Mary Hyke of Woodland, Wash.; and grandchildren, William, James, and Genelle.

A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 31, at the Bella Vista Funeral Home Chapel, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, with Dr. Jim Brewer officiating. Burial will be at the Bella Vista Cemetery.

Marianne Julie McDonough

Marianne Julie McDonough, 62, of Bella Vista, died Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at Northwest Medical Center of Benton County in Bentonville. She was born on July 29, 1946, in Davenport, Iowa to William Michael McDonough and Margaret Lawlor McDonough.

She is survived by numerous family members.

James A. Shumway

James A. Shumway, 72, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Friday, July 17, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers, Ark. He was born Nov. 27, 1936, in Fremont, Wis., to Kenneth Shumway and Getty Winters Shumway.

He graduated form Kankakee (Ill.) High School in 1955 and served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1956 to 1958. He was vice president of Wilmette Bank and owned the Village Car Center in Glencoe, Ill. He was a member of the Bella Vista Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Linck Shumway; two daughters and sons-in-law, Susan Way and Chris Way of McHenry, Ill., and Salianne Nichols and Dennis Nichols of Long Grove, Ill.; two stepsons, Michael D. Linck of Frisco, Texas, and Andrew J. Linck of Carol Stream, Ill.; a sister and brother-in-law, Judy Varboncoeur and Mert Varboncoeur of Elgin, Ill.; and nine grandchildren, Brianne Donbar, James Donbar, Christopher Mortimer, Daniel Mortimer, Erin Nichols, Emily Nichols, Kara Nichols, Ashlynn Linck and Justen Linck.

Trowbridge

Marion D. Trowbridge, 75, of Bella Vista, died Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers. He was born on Oct. 8, 1933, in Wildhorse, Colo., to Social William Trowbridge and Hattie Corene Martin Trowbridge.

He graduated from Kingston High School in Kingston.m He attended John Brown University in Siloam Springs, for two years and later Glendale College in California.

He married Cecelia Nemeck on Sept. 18, 1955, in Burbank, Calif. He began working with I.T.T. in California, retiring after 25 years; and then working for Remco, making parts for the Patriot Missile, where he retired. He moved to Bella Vista 13 years ago from Tujunga, Calif.

He was a member of the Bella Vista Assembly of God. He loved fishing, golfing, and was an avid softball pitcher in The Church Leagues.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, CeCe of Bella Vista; sons, David Trowbridge and wife, Susan of Bentonville, and David Trowbridge of Mt. Vernon, Wash.; daughter Laura Poe and husband, Stan of Bentonville; brother, Joe Trowbridge and wife, Paula of Houston; sisters, Ruth Martinez and husband, Manuel of Sierra Vista, Ariz., Esther Chubbuck and husband, Jerry of Limon, Colo., and Mary Williams and husband, Ray of Gardnerville, Nev.; grandchildren, Ryan Trowbridge, Brendi Gale, Holly Poe, Genelle, Trowbridge, and Dylan Poe.

A service was held July 24 at the Bella Vista Assembly of God Church, with the Rev. Jonathan D. Watson officiating. Burial was in the Bella Vista Cemetery.

Harold LeRoy Wangsness

Harold LeRoy Wangsness, 89, of Wichita, Kan., formerly of Bella Vista, died Friday, July 17, 2009, in Wichita. He was born June 23, 1920, in Sioux Falls, S.D., to Iver Wangsness and Amanda Wangsness.

He retired as a sales engineer for G.E.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Wangsness; a brother, Marvin Wangsness; and a sister, Delores Holland.

Survivors include a daughter, Susan Laudert of Wichita; two sisters, Elaine Harvey of Ellsworth, Kan., and Bernice Davidson of Anaheim, Calif.; a granddaughter, Beth Koksal of Garden City, Kan.; and two great-grandchildren, Jack Koksal and Lily Koksal, both of Garden City.

Graveside services were, July 21 at the Bella Vista Cemetery.

Arrangements were by Downing and Lahey East Mortuary of Wichita.
