— Eat a taco and help the cops help the kids.

On Nov. 10, Bella Vista Police officers will serve tacos at Taco Tuesday at the Metfield Neighborhood Grill, home of the 75-cent taco, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. All the tips raised will go to the Shop with a Cop program.

The program allows police officers to take needy children shopping so the kids can buy Christmas gifts for themselves and their families. Each child gets $200 to buy items and to pay for their lunch, said program organizer Sgt. Bill Kaminski.

The children come from Cooper Elementary School, which provides a bus for the shopping spree.

The police said the goal is to raise enough money to take 16 children shopping Dec. 7.
