BELLA VISTA Veterans Day at the Wall Nov. 7
Bella Vista will honor Veterans Day with a celebration Saturday, Nov. 7, starting at 11 a.m. at the Veterans Wall of Honor.
The event is sponsored by the Marshall S. Sayner American Legion Post 341 and the Robert M. Sterrett Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9063.
Guest speaker will be Bernie Skoch, a retired brigadier general with the U.S. Air Force. Patriotic music will be performed by the Bentonville High School Band.
Attendees should bring their own lawn chairs.
In case of inclement weather, the event will be moved to Riordan Hall.
Nov. 7 dance
The Bella Vista Big Band, featuring Pamela Nelson, will present an Honor the Veterans Dance at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at Riordan Hall in Bella Vista.
Attendees may arrive at 7 p.m. for a free dance lesson by Danceandswing.biz.
A singles table will be available.
Tickets for the dance will be sold at the door for $10 per person. Bella Vista property ownership is not required.

‘USO Canteen’
Ambassadors for Christ Academy invites all veterans and their families to join in thesecond annual Veterans Day “USO Canteen” on Wednesday, Nov. 11, from 2 p.m. until 3:30 p.m.
The school’s choir and drama team, directed by Melissa Eubanks and Miki Golaway, respectively, will perform music and skits in a canteentype setting.
Refreshments will be served.
Admission is free. Organizers encourage all veterans and their families to attend.
The academy is located just off Benton County Road 40 at 8579 W. Ford Springs Road in Bentonville.
More information or directions may be obtained by calling the school office at 273-5635 between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.
BVCTV to air special program
Bella Vista Community TV will air a special program in honor of the nation’s veterans.
A video of the 2008 National Veterans Creative Arts Festival will be broadcast at 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. on Veterans Day, Wednesday, Nov. 11, and at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, on Cox Cable channel 16.
The annual festival is the “culmination of talent competitions in art, creative writing, dance, drama and music for veterans treated in the Department of Veterans Affairs’ national health care system,” according to the VA.
The recorded program is of the October 2008 variety show, held in Riverside, Calif.
