BELLA VISTA Thelma Louise Hacker
Thelma Louise Hacker, 84, of Bentonville, died Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009, at Innisfree Nursing Center in Rogers. She was born Jan. 14, 1925, in Fort Smith, to Fred Reese and Orpha Hart Reese.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Hacker; a sister, Freda Johnson; a son, David Hacker; and a grandson, Mark Hacker.
Survivors include a daughter, Maryland Salazar of Rogers; sons Melvin Hacker of Bella Vista, the Rev. Joseph Hacker of Lowell, and Dean Hacker of Bentonville; a brother, Fred H. Reese of Bella Vista; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Oct. 28 at God’s Lighthouse Church in Bentonville.
Burial was at the Daniel Cemetery in Hiwasse.

Kelly Jenine Hammond, 49, of Rogers, died Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009, at Circle of Life Hospice House in Springdale. She was born June 12, 1960, in Tulsa, Okla., to LaDon Smith and Melinda Wilson.
She was preceded in death by her father, LaDon Smith.
Survivors include three daughters, Sarha Mathis of Oklahoma City, Kelly Lew Hammond of Lowell, and Samantha Elaine Hammond of Rogers; her mother, Melinda Smith of Bella Vista; her stepmother; Carole Smith of Rogers; sisters LaDonna Williams of Pea Ridge, Dana VanHouse of Tulsa, Okla., and Regina Smith of Sapulpa, Okla.; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial service was held Saturday, Oct. 24. Cremation arrangements were by Epting Funeral Home of Fayetteville, Ark.
Memorials may be made to a special account in the names of LaDonna Williams and Johnny Lee Smith at Arvest Bank.

Grace A. Jordan
Grace Arlene Jordan, 83, of Harrah, Okla., formerly of Bentonville, died Monday, Oct. 26, 2009, at the Wolfe Living Center in Harrah. She was born May 14, 1926, in Chanute, Kan., to George Raymond Washburn and Fannie Louise DeCamp Washburn.
She attended Union College in Lincoln, Neb. She worked for the Missouri Conference and the Oregon Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.
She married Albert Jordan on March 28, 1948, in Chanute. They lived in Ironton, Mo., and later in Bentonville, where they owned a produce market.
They moved to the Summit Ridge Retirement Community in Harrah in 2004. She was a member of the Summit Ridge Seventh-day Adventist Church in Harrah.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Jordan; three brothers, George Washburn Jr., Charles Washburn and Donald Washburn; and a sister, Vera Harner.
Survivors include sons Randy Jordan of Fayetteville, and Roger Jordan of Bella Vista; a foster daughter, Martha Curtis of Jackson, Tenn.; sister Margaret Wilson of Burlington, Wash.; brothers Herbert Washburn of Chanute, Kan., and Samuel Washburn of Albuquerque, N.M.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Oct. 30 at the Summit Ridge Seventh-day Adventist Church in Harrah.
Burial was at the Summit Ridge Cemetery in Harrah.
Arrangements were by Smith-Parks Funeral Service of Harrah.

Lawrence E. Kinsey
Lawrence “Larry” E. Kinsey, 87, of Bella Vista, died Friday, Oct. 30, 2009, at the Northwest Medical Center of Benton County, Bentonville.
He was born July 24, 1922 in Topeka, Kan., to Clyde E. Kinsey and Leona Marie (Flesher) Kinsey. His family moved to Bloomington, Ill., where he lived until 1948. He and wife Patricia Ann Shea lived in Morton, Ill., Lincoln, Ill., West Des Moines Iowa, and Lake Panorama, Iowa, before moving to Bella Vista in 1990.
His career employment was with Smith L Kline & French Laboratories as a district sales manager. Prior to that, he held a variety of jobs.
He had a history of community involvement as a Scout master, PTA president, school board member, Red Crossblood bank volunteer, president of his local Toastmasters International Club, president of Clover Ridge Property Owners’ association at Lake Panorama and, after moving to Bella Vista, became a very active member of the Welcome Wagon Club of Bella Vista and contributed to the building of Bella Vista’s Tanyard Creek Nature Trail. Most recently he was active in the “Been There, Inc.” a cancer support group.
He was a graduate of Bloomington High School in Bloomington Ill., and served in the South Pacific during World War II, earning the Combat Infantry Badge, Combat Medical Badge, and the Bronze Star.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Mother, and Sister.
He is survived by his wife Patricia Ann (Shea) Kinsey of Bella Vista; one daughter, Barbara Ann Wente and her husband Don of Clive, Iowa; one son, Robert Alan Kinsey and wife Beverly of Martinsburg, W. Va.; grandchildren Mark W. Wente and wife Kim of Urbandale, Iowa, Jay Wente and wife Lynn of Indianola, Iowa, Kara A. Chicquette and husband Jeff of Seattle, Wash., Dana E. Walker and husband Dave of Germantown, Md., and Douglas S. Kinsey and wife Lauren of Leesburg, Va.; and great-grandchildren; Nathan L., Adam P., and Joshua W. Wente of Urbandale, Iowa. Macy Wente of Indianola, Iowa, Kinsey Grace andOwen Walker of Germantown, Md., Brady L. Kinsey of Leesburg, Va. He also has two stepgrandchildren, Jeffrey and Kevin Shaver of Maryland; step-greatgrandchildren; Drew and Kyla Duckworth, Dan and Matt Shaver, and Riley, Julia, and Brendan Shaver.
He will be cremated following a private memorial service held by his family.

“Ann” Kluender
Angelene “Ann” Kluender, 80, of Bella Vista, died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009, at Regency Hospital of Northwest Arkansas in Fayetteville.
She was born Feb. 8, 1929, in Norton County, Kan., to George McCoy and Margaret Maher Mc-Coy.
She married Adolf Kluender in September 1953 in G r e a t B e n d , K a n . S h e moved to Bella Vista in 1994 following her retirementas manager at the Landmark Savings & Loan. She was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, where she was a Eucharist Minister for seven years. She played golf and bridge.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, and two brothers.
She is survived by her husband, Adolf Kluender of Bella Vista; daughter Sue Hutchins and husband, Jim of St. Louis; brothers Charles McCoy and wife Lila of Nampa, Idaho, William McCoy and wife, Betty of Great Bend, Kan.; and sister, Maxine Wyatt and husband Ray of Bella Vista.
A Mass of the Resurrection was held Nov. 2 at St. Bernard Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to charity of donor’s choice.

Word McOwen
Lucy Irene Word McOwen, 92, of Bentonville, died Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009, at The Gardens at Osage Terrace in Bentonville. She was born Sept. 20, 1917, in DeWitt, to Benjamin Word and F. Ella Word.
She had lived in Memphis, Tenn., and Pine Bluff, but spent the last 15 years in the Bentonville and Bella Vista area. She was a lifelong Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Lawrence McOwen; two sisters;and three brothers.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Eddie Lou Taylor and Frank Taylor of Bella Vista; a daughter, Nannette McOwen of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren Chris Robinson of Dallas, Lisa Lewis of Indianapolis, Ind., Trish Newsom of Soddy Daisy, Tenn., and Rob Taylor of Bentonville; great-grandchildren Taylor Jarboe of New Albany, Ind., Lane Lewis of Plainview, Ind., Aspen Taylor of Bentonville and Peyton Robinson of Dallas; and a cousin, Margaret Ella Mobley of Corpus Christi, Texas.

Lena Fern Monday
Lena Fern Monday, 95 of Bella Vista, Arkansas, died Wednesday morning October 21, 2009 at Northwest Regional Hospital in Bentonville. Funeral services were held Oct. 24 in Grant City, Mo. Burial was at the Kirk cemetery in Allendale, Mo. Memorials may be directed to the Kirk cemetery.
Mrs. Monday was born June 12, 1914, near Hatfield, Mo., to Henry Michael and Bertha Jane (Benson) Crecelius. She attended a country school near Hatfield and graduated from Hatfield High School.
She married Victor Monday, Dec. 2, 1932, in Grant City. She was a homemaker in Worth County, Mo., and Ringgold County, Iowa, before moving to Creston, Iowa. She moved to northwest Arkansas in 2002 and lived at Highland Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Bella Vista for the last year and a half.
Fern was an active member of the Baptist church throughout her life. She enjoyed sewing, writing and reading poetry, reading the Bible, and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include sons Gene, wife Shirley of Parkersburg, W.Va.; Vance, wife Lila of Bella Vista; Dwight, special friend Larry of Plattsburg, Mo.; Jarold, wife Betty of Grafton, W.Va.; grand children, David, Jeanette, Vicky, Sherry, Robert, Lonny, Brian, and Karlisha; greatgrandchildren, Geneieve, Sasha, Loni, Kassidy, and Gabriel; step-greatgranddaughters Amanda, Courtney, and Anna; great-great-granddaughters, Taryn and Hadley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Victor, brother Gilbert Ray Crecelius, and grandson Michael Monday.
Funeral arrangements were made by the Prugh-Dunfee Funeral home of Grant City. Services were conducted by the Rev. Robert Sauser of Creston, Iowa., with special music provided by close friend Beth Hunter of Albia, Iowa.
Odell Williams
Odell Williams, 92, of Tchula, Miss., formerly of Bella Vista, died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009, in Mississippi. He was born April 22, 1917, in Covington County, Ala.
He was a retired organizer for Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America. He was an ordained minister who served as interim pastor of several Southern Baptist churches in Covington County. He was also a member of several gospel quartets.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ida Mae Williams; a son, Matthew Baugh; and a great-granddaughter, Avery Baugh.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Freeman of Tchula; grandsons, Benjamin Baugh and Robert Baugh, both of Springdale; a granddaughter; and 13 greatgrandchildren.
A service was held Oct. 31 in Pea Ridge. Burial will be at Pea Ridge Cemetery.
