BELLA VISTA The Bella Vista Property Owners Association is still seeking property owners to serve on its board of directors and several committees. Applications for committee vacancies are now available on the POA’s Web site, http://www.bellavistapoa.com/board/committes/committeeapp.asp. Committee applications also are available at the front desk of the Bella Vista Country Club, 98 Clubhouse Drive, and at the Membership Services Department, 101 Town Center. Available positions include:
• Golf committee — one seat;
• Lakes committee — two seats;
• Recreation committee — one seat; and
• Village Pride Committee — two seats. All applications must be returned to the Country Club by Nov. 20. Applications will be reviewed and considered by board Chairwoman Roberta Dale and POA General Manager Tommy Bailey. Those selected will be announced at the Dec. 10 board meeting. The three-year terms begin Jan. 1, 2010. In addition, property owners interested in running for one of three seats on the board of directors may obtain a petition from POA Corporate Secretary Kathy Ferguson at the Country Club. A property owner must collect 50 signatures of members in good standing in order to have his or her name placed on the association’s ballot. Petitions must be returned to Ferguson by Dec. 18. In the event there are not six candidates for the board, the deadline will be extended. The three-year board terms begin in May 2010. Candidates will be announced at the Jan. 21, 2010, meeting. Chambers
Navy Lt. j.g. Andrew M. Chambers, son of Susan and Charles Chambers of Bella Vista, was recently designated a Naval Aviator while serving with Training Squadron 22 at the Naval Air Station in Kingsville, Texas.
Chambers was presented with the coveted “Wings of Gold,” marking the culmination of months of flight training.
He followed a training curriculum that included basic studies in engineering and navigation, training flights in simulators, aircraft familiarization, basic and advanced instrument training, extended navigation flights, and landings and takeoffs aboard an aircraft carrier.
Chambers, a 2003 graduate of Bentonville High School, joined the Navy in May 2007. He earned a bachelor of science degree from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md.
