BELLA VISTA — While Larry Williams may live in Bella Vista, he likes to golf in Branson, Mo. A recenttrip there paid off when he landed his second holein-one in 45 years of playing the game.

On Sept. 13, he used a 7-iron to hitthe ball 124 yards to the cup on the seventh hole of the Thousand Hills Golf Course. Dan Lind witnessed the feat.

Match Play League

The Ladies’ 18-hole Handicap Match Play League hosted its end-of-the-year luncheon Oct. 26 at the Metfield Clubhouse in Bella Vista.

The league plays the second and fourth Mondays of the month, from April through October.

The 48-member league welcomes new members and substitutes to the roster when play begins again eachApril.In order to establish partners and create teams, interested golfers should indicate their interest as soon as possible.

A membership drive for the 2010 Bella VistaWomen’s 18-hole Golf Club is under way. Applications are available at all BellaVista golf shops and online at www.bellavistapoa.com.

Membership dues for players are $35. Social memberships are available for $20.

The season runs from March through October.

* * * Pickleball

Indoor pickleball is played Mondays and Wednesdays from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Branchwood Recreation Center. No equipment is needed, as the center has paddles and balls. Instruction is provided.
