— BV Lutheran

The Friendly Stitchers will meet at 9 a.m. Thursday at Bella Vista Lutheran Church.

A detailed overview on elder law will be given at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct.

8, by Todd Whatley, a credited elder-law attorney. Whatley will talk about elder law, estate planning, long-term care planning and veterans' benefits. He will answer questions after his talk.

This is a free program and open to the public.

A "Recycling Treasures and Rummage Sale" will be held Saturday, Oct. 24. Donated items for the sale may brought to the church Monday, Oct. 19, through Thursday, Oct. 22. No clothing or footwear will be accepted. Proceeds from the sale will be used to help fund a food bank program.

"Trunk and Treat" will take place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 31. The Halloween "Spook-Tac-ULar" will include inflatables, pony rides and refreshments.

St. George's Anglican Church

"Living the Great Commandment" will be the Rev. Bobby Hall's sermon for Sunday, Oct.

11. The service will include a celebration of the Holy Eucharist.

A Wednesday evening prayer service begins at 6:30 p.m.

The Rite of Reconciliation takes place the second Saturday of each month from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Christ the King Lutheran (ELCA)

A community supper, "Feast of Grace," is served each Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. A $3 donation will be accepted. Juniorand senior-high school students gather following supper for a youth social at 6:30 p.m.

The food pantry is open from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Wednesdays.

The Quilt Club meets the second and fourth Mondays of the month at 10 a.m. All are welcome to attend and bring a sack lunch.

The prayer group gathers at 9 a.m. everyThursday.

Christ the King is a host site for the Angel Food Outreach Ministry.

The Presbyterian Women Fall Potluck Luncheon will be held at noon Friday, Oct. 9, in the fellowship hall. A program titled "God Will Do Wonders Among You" will be presented by members B. Leavens, M. Sweeney and B. Tropansky.

The Rev. Alton Garrison, assistant general superintendent of the Assemblies of God, will be guest speaker at the Missions Convention at Bella Vista Assembly of God, 1771 Forest Hills Boulevard, on Sunday, Oct. 11, at 10:30 a.m.

Garrison is a former superintendent of the Arkansas District Assembles of God. He is author of "Hope in America's Crisis" and "Building a Winning Team."

October is Pastor Appreciation Month. Opportunities will be given to the church family to honor the pastors with cards, lunch out, childcare, mowing their lawns, raking leaves, taking them fishing or any other creative way.
