Robert Augustin, 65, of Bella Vista, died Sunday, Oct. 4, 2009, at Concordia Health & Rehab in Bella Vista. He was born Sept. 27, 1944, in Indianapolis to John A. Augustin and Marie J. Kress Augustin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Bernard J., William E., James R., John V., and sister, Dolores I.
He is survived by nine brothers and sisters, Rita M., and Charlotte A. of Sulphur Springs, Jean F. Zukowski of Port Barrington, Ill., Joseph B., and wife, Betty of Lake Arrowhead, Calif., Violet C. of Port Barrington, Ill., Irene J. of Bella Vista, Louis A. and wife, Patricia of Boone, N.C., Thomas L. and wife, Donna of Camby, Ind., Richard A. and wife, Elaine of Sulphur Springs; and many nieces and nephews.
A service was held Oct. 11 at Harbor House in Sulphur Springs.
A second will be held Oct. 15, with burial at Calvary Cemetery in Indianapolis.
Arrangements were by the Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory.
Jean Robertson
(Weiss) Doleshal
Jean Robertson (Weiss) Doleshal died Oct. 4, 2009.
Jean was born June 27, 1923, to Sam and Louise Robertson in O'Neill, Neb.
She is survived by her two daughters, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pati (Weiss) Sophia is her daughter and mother of both Stephanie McWhorter and greatgranddaughter Marissa.
Pati's other daughter, Laura Fabiani and her son Jaden, also mourn the loss .
Jean alsoleaves daughter Marilyn (Weiss) Babich, mother of Jean's grandchildren Bret and Brittany Babich.
Jean also leaves her two stepsons, David and Brad Doleshal, and grandchildren Kelly, Todd and Brett.
Jean was a Stephen's minister and outreach leader at the Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista.
She was a divisional director with Beta Sigma Phi.
She retired to Bella Vista with her husband Roy Doleshal, who predeceased her.
She was a member of the PEO Sisterhood.
A memorial service will be held at the Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista at 1 p.m., Oct. 24.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Stroke Foundation.

Lyle Ray Grinnell
Lyle Ray Grinnell, 72, of Bella Vista, died Friday, Oct. 9, 2009 at his home. He was born Nov. 7, 1936, in Cedarville, Ill. to Walter Grinnell and Ester Moyer Grinnell.
He worked for Barber Coleman for over 40 years in Rockford, Ill.
He was an avid golfer and bowler, a square dancer, and loved to RV and go camping.
He was involved in Boy Scouts for over 20 years.
He was preceded in death by parents; brother, Norman; sister, Barbara and grandson Nickolas.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Barbara Grinnell of Bella Vista; three sons, Larry L. Grinnell and Michael R. Grinnell and wife, Deb of Rockford, Ill., Todd A Grinnell and wife, Angie of Roscoe, Ill.; one daughter, Diane K. Rawhoof and husband, Don of Machesney Park, Ill.; two brothers, Bob Grinnell of Dakota, Ill., Donald Grinnell of California; one sister, Mary Lou Haywood and husband, Jack of Freeport, Ill. and eight grandchildren.
A service was held Oct. 11 at the Bella Vista Lutheran Church.

Thomas Milton Hoffman, 85, of Rogers, died Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2009, at Heritage Park Nursing Home in Rogers. He was born on Jan. 30, 1924, in Detroit, to Sam Hoffman and Rose Klein Hoffman.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Inez Reece Hoffman, who died in 2007.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Oct. 19, at the Bella Vista Community Church, 75 East Lancashire Blvd.

McDermott
Aaron M. McDermott, 35, of Rogers, died Monday, Oct. 5, 2009. He was born March 8, 1974, in Humboldt, Iowa, to Michael L. McDermott and Ruth Bird McDermott.
He worked in sales at Meeks for 15 years.
Survivors include his wife of 12 years, Melissa McDermott; two sons, Corbyn Michael McDermott and Chandler Ray McDermott; his father, Michael McDermott and his wife Linda McDermott of Lu Verne, Iowa; his mother, Ruth Kennicker of Bella Vista; his maternal grandparents, Gordon and Esther Brock of Humboldt, Iowa; a brother and sister-in-law, Joseph Mc-Dermott and Kristan Mc-Dermott of Lu Verne; and a sister, Lisa Johnson of Bella Vista.
Funeral services were Oct. 8, at KeyPoint Church in Bentonville, with Pastor Shane Roth officiating.
Burial was at the Rogers Cemetery.

Charles B.
McMillan
Charles B. McMillan, Jr., 94, of Bella Vista, died Friday, Oct. 9, 2009, at Concordia Health & Rehab in Bella Vista. Hewas born on June 8, 1915 in Nashville, Tenn., to Charles B. McMillan, Sr. and Lucy (Holt) McMillan as their first child.
Most of Charles’ life was spent in the Kansas City, Mo., area, where he graduated from the Northeast High School and the Lathrop Flying School. He earned his first pilot’s license at 16. He also held an aviation and engineer’s license. Charles began his life in the aviation field with the early Trans World Airline.
From 1941-45 he served as a chief petty officer in the naval Air Transport Service. He returned to TWA, and in 1949, was contracted to the Ethiopian Airlines based in Addis Abeba, Ethiopia. He helped the Airline train their employees to maintain and repair their aircraft. He returned to TWA in 1952 and was a line maintenance foreman until his retirement in 1979 after 42 years.
In 1993, Charles and Berdein, his wife of 67 years, moved to their retirement home in Bella Vista.
Don served in the Army during World War II and served in numerous campaigns, and received many distinguished ribbions and medals including thePurple Heart.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Nellie Olson; siblings, Norris, Kermit, Nelder (Dorthea), Grace (Melvin) Tofting and Hazel (Marv) Weiss.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Jane; children, Peggy (Nory) Hunze, Al (Mary Ellen) Olson and Jane (Bob) Riley; six grandchildren; four greatgrandchildren; and a sister, Doris Hunze.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m.
Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at St. John's Lutheran Church, 8250 202nd Street, Lakeville, Minn.
Gathering of friends and family will be one hour prior to service.
Interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Larry E. Royer, 67, of Bella Vista, died Monday, Oct. 5, 2009, at Northwest Medical Center of Bentonville. He was born Aug. 7, 1942, in Ottawa County, Okla., to Harold Royer and Ella Faye Baumann Royer.
He was raised and educated in Joplin, Mo. He graduated from Joplin High School in 1960. He graduated Pittsburg State University in Kansas in 1967.
Larry married Cheryl Lewis in Aug. 1963 in Joplin.
He served in the U.S.
Army during the Vietnam Conflict.

He was a member of the TWA Senior Club, No. Cross United Methodist Church in Kansas City, Mo., Bella Vista American Legion Post 341 and attended the Bella Vista Community Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Virginia Lee Leonard.
He is survived by his wife, Berdein A. McMillan of Bella Vista.

Donald G. Olson
Donald G. Olson, 84, of Lakeville, formerly of Bella Vista, passed away suddenly on Oct. 9, 2009, at Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, Minn.Phillip’s Petroleum at Bartlesville, Okla., for 30 years. Upon retirement, he and Cheryl moved to Bella Vista in1999.
He was a member of the Bella Vista Church of Christ.
He enjoyed golf, traveling and Cardinal Baseball.
He was preceded in death by his father and a sister Barbara Bryan.
Larry is survived by his wife, Cheryl Royer of Bella Vista; son Eric Eugene Royer of Seligman, Mo.; daughter Jennifer Gay Royer of Bentonville; mother, Ella Faye Royer of Joplin; and brothers, Kenneth J. Royer and wife Karen of Joplin, LeRoy Royer and wife Sharon of Joplin, and Chuck Royer and wife Vicki of Bartlesville.
Funeral services were held Oct. 8 at the Bella Vista Funeral Home.

Leah Lucile Soper, 93, of Bentonville, died Friday, Sept. 11, 2009, at the The Gardens at Osage Terrace, Bentonville. She was born on April 18, 1916 in Crystal Lake, Ill., to Emil Handrock and Elizabeth (Heiden) Handrock.
She moved to Bella Vista in 1979 from Chatsworth, Calif.
She was a member of the United Lutheran Church.
She was a professional artist and a member of the Village Art Club, West Valley Artist in California and Bates hospital Memorial Arts Council.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Glenn Soper on July 4, 2004.
She is survived by three sons, Stephen Soper of Columbia, Mo., Keith Soper of Jackson Hole, Wyo., Jonathan Soper of Lake Tahoe, Calif.; one daughter, Kathleen Turgeon of Belgrade, Mont.; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m., Friday, Oct. 16, 2009, at the United Lutheran Church, 100 Cooper Road, Bella Vista.

John Everett Tate Jr., or “Tate” as he preferred to be called, died Oct. 6, 2009.
He was born on Dec. 20, 1919, in Winston Salem, N.C., to John Everett Tate Sr. and Bertha Lee Butler Tate.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 11 years, Evelyn; his sister, Jewell Elizabeth and his son Craig.
He is survived by his sons John III (Fran) of Tucson, Ariz., Truett (Dorthe) of London, England; Mark (Lynnette) of Vail, Ariz.;brother, Richard (Jeanette) of Kernersville, N.C.; stepchildren, Bill Brown (Erin) of Omaha, Neb., C. Stephen Lee Whitson, 59 of Bella Vista, passed away Oct. 5, 2009. The family hosted a memorial service Oct. 8.
Benton County Memorial Park of Rogers is handling the arrangements.
Stephen was born April 20, 1950 at Durant, Okla., to Elmer Eugene and Ramona Whitson. Stephen was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War. On April 2, 1979, Stephen was married to Lynda Darlene Vanna inDallas.
For many years he worked as a certified boiler operator for the Rock-Tenn Company.
His hobbies included fishing, bowling and playing dominoes.
Stephen was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter, Allora Whitson.
He is survived by his wife Lynda Whitson of the home; four children, Kimberly and husband Larland Mayfield of Mountain Grove, Mo., Tabitha and husband Sam Wall of Scurry, Texas, Stephen Whitson and wife Sarah of Dardanelle, Ramona and husband Frank Dickerson of Clarksville; brother, James R.
