BELLA VISTA September 24 was no run-of-themill day of play for Bella Vistan Janet Swafford. Her successful attempt at the ninth hole of the Highlands Golf Course resulted in hersecond hole-in-one in 35 years.
Swafford swung a 9-hybrid to send the ball soaring 80 yards from tee to cup.All of her playing partners - Marilyn Garris, Carole Walford and Jan Holm - saw the ball fall into the hole. * * *
Dick Hove of Bella Vista became a second-time ace Oct. 12 while playing a round at the Berksdale Golf Course.
The cup on the third hole captured the tee shot Hove made with a pitching wedge from 107 yards away. Witnessing the hole-in-one were Mud Schulz and Bob Iltzsch.
The ace has been golfing for 40 years.

What price, glory! Howard Anderson of Bella Vista scored his first ace on Oct. 12, but two of his three playing partners weren’t watching when the ball dropped into the cup on the No. 7 hole at the Kingswood Golf Course. Anderson used a pitching wedge to hit the ball 95 yards.
His fellow players were Paul Bishop, Wally Nelson and Virgil Halgrim.
Anderson has been playing the game for 24 years.
