LITTLE ROCK The staff and volunteers of the Schmieding Center-Bella Vista are excited to welcome everyone to the 20th annual Bella Vista Senior Health Fair on Thursday, Sept. 17, from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Riordan Hall in Bella Vista.
This is the fifth consecutive year the Schmieding Center has coordinated this event. As part of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and the Arkansas Aging Initiative Program, we believe this event is an important part of our organization's mission to provide information and education programs to this area's older adults and their families.
Participating in programs such as the Bella Vista Senior Health Fair is one way older adults can stay informed about their own health condition, as well as the services and treatment options available in their community.
The Bella Vista Health Fair provides numerous opportunities for seniors to learn about area health-care services, ask questions and talk with health-care providers about specific concerns they may have. The event also provides numerous opportunities to learn about new screening tests and treatment options available in northwest Arkansas.
If you are a senior, caregiver or family member of an older adult and interested in learning more about whatservices are available for seniors in this community, you will not want to miss out on this event.
In addition to the many vendors, this year's health fair will feature four different educational opportunities. The programs begin at 9 a.m. with Dr. Cara Riley from Washington Regional Diagnostic Clinic. She will discuss how to maintain healthy bones for life.
From 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Bryan Sheehan, DPM, from Ankle and Foot Centers of Mid-America, will discuss how to be good to your feet.
At 11 a.m., Dr. Steven Voldwill present the choices in new eye treatments that are now available.
From noon to 1 p.m., Hope Hartz Fredrich, DNSc, APN, FNP-BC, and Arlene Nepomuceno, M.D., will discuss the choices for healthy aging and how it is all about you.
Make the decision to inform yourself by attending this year's event on Thursday Sept. 17, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Riordan Hall in Bella Vista.
